Christina Mild is a semi-retired, profesional Science teacher with an M.S. in Biological Sciences and an Honorary Texas Master Naturalist, whose first contact with local naturalists occurred almost 21 years ago when she was a director at the Valley Nature Center, an urban oasis of habitat preservation in Weslaco, Texas. Since that time, she has learned lots from legendary botanists, Dr. Alfred Richardson and Dr. Robert Leonard, and employed that knowledge to transform her own yard with native plants and to help establish Harlingen's Ramsey Nature Park, the Arroyo Colorado World Birding Center site.
